So remember how I was pining for a new golf bag? Well, while I don’t have one yet, I think I may have found the hidden treasure, which was right under my nose…
Having moved to a (scorching hot) South Texas town last weekend, my boyfriend and I went to TJ Maxx to search for some needed housewares on the cheap. I’ve been to many a TJ Maxx before and found great deals on brand name golf polos and the like, but this time I really hit jackpot. There, nestled between men’s athletic gear and children’s toys was about 10 brand-new golf bags. Mostly they were Addidas, but there were some other great brand names as well. And, they were only $5o dollars. I was salivating like crazy, and had my eyes particularly on a black and white bag that was only branded by Addidas’s classic three stripes. Sure, it was in the men’s section, but it had a distinct sportiness that I think would be workable. Plus, since my boyfriend wants to play golf, he’ll need a bag, too…
Rather than getting the bag, however, I was able to reel in my desires and instead focus on getting wonderful new clothes hangers — you know the kind. They are skinny and velvety, and the claim that they can reduce your hanging space by at least 30% seems incredulous to those who haven’t seen to believe. Well, I took the plunge and bought a box of these fancy hangers. The next day, I promptly went back for five more boxes — some for me and some for the boyfriend. Needless to say, they are amazing and our closet almost looks like it was custom-made. Well, maybe not that good, but pretty damn organized.
So no bag this trip, but no doubt I will be trolling around TJ Maxx (and the Ross and Marshall’s next door) for some budget-friendly golf finds once financial normalcy returns!
